How to design a calendar

Calendars are great way to display your photos all year long. With, you can add custom photos, text, and backgrounds to every month of the year.

To begin, go to our Calendar page on and click "Start New Calendar." This will take you to the calendar builder.

The upload box will pop up automatically, but you can also access the uploader at anytime by clicking   under the "Project Content" section to the left of your calendar project.

Click "UploadPhotos" to begin uploading.

Once your images are uploaded, you must select them so they have a blue checkmark , and then click the x in the upper righthand corner to add them to the left side photo bank.

Once the images are in your photo bank, you can design your calendar pages in two ways.

1) Auto Place

Auto place will automatically place the photos onto the calendar pages. The photos will be added in sequential order rather than randomly.

Auto place will also offer to generate a collage on the front cover of your calendar using all the project photos. If you'd rather not, you can decline and customize the cover yourself.

  • Note: if you auto add all the photos to your front cover and wish to remove them, click any photo and then click  from the toolbar that'll appear above the photo to clear the cover.

2) Manually Placing

To manually place the photos in your calendar, you can click and hold a photo while dragging it from the side photo bank to the page you want it on. Photos can be moved between pages in the same way.

Photos cannot be added to the calendar grid pages.

To design a page

Some tools such as Templates, Text, and Backgrounds can only be used on individual pages (you can add a background to the book or calendar as a whole by selecting the background while viewing the whole book) To add a template, text, or background to an individual page, you first must zoom into the page by clicking the  by the page number.

This brings the page into full view to edit and extends the toolbar so you can access all our page design tools.

Changing dates, fonts, grids, and adding holidays

All of the tools to personalize your calendar can be found in the Product section of the toolbar above your calendar.

Clicking "Start Date" lets you control the month and year your calendar will begin (it cannot be set to a year in the past).

Clicking "Date Font" lets you pick which font you want the month titles and dates to be(the font can only be chosen for the calendar as a whole, not by month).

Clicking "Holidays" lets you add the standard American holidays to your calendar as well as adding any personal holidays like birthdays, anniversaries, religious holidays, and dates to remember (you cannot add images to the dates at this time).

The Remove Grid option lets you decide whether to have a grid around the calendar dates or not.

Utilizing all of's design tools will result in a unique, personalized calendar to enjoy each month of the year.

NOTE: If ordering a calendar designed in a previous year, you must update the start date to have the dates reflect the new year. If you do a direct reprint of your old calendar, the dates will reflect the year it was created.
